General comment on data set Further information on the declared unit and the inventory analysis based on manufacturer information (input and output of material and energy flows) are available for download as an Excel file within the section “background info”. The data set was created in 2021 as an update with identical foreground system. All background data sets are taken from the GaBi Professional Database with content version 2021.1. The modeling and calculation of the life cycle assessment is based on the European standards EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 and EN 16485:2014. For questions, please contact holzundklima@thuenen.de.

Technological representativeness

1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
